Chrysanthemum, often simply called mum, is a flowering perennial plant of genus Chrysanthemum in the daisy family (Asteraceae).
Chrysanthemums were cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the
15th century BC.
Many flower forms are now available.
Stems may carry one flower or multiple blooms.
There are also spoon-shaped, quill-shaped, threadlike or spiderlike florets.
Used as either cut flowers or blooming plants, their colors include pink, yellow, red, white, bronze, magenta plus purple. |

This flower is native throughout cooler temperate Northern Hemisphere areas of Asia, Europe plus North America.
This popular plant has broad, spear-like foliage with fragrant little white bell-shaped flowers.
While it is a popular garden perennial, it has seen increasing popularity as a cut flower, especially in wedding bouquets. |
