Lily
Common names: lily, Asiatic lily, Oriental lily.
These showy, large flowered plants of genus Lilium are true lily plants.
They have a large showy flower which is six-petalled and is often fragrant.
Trumpet-shaped flowers grow to a 6-inch diameter.
Stems grow to 3 feet long, carrying four to eight blossoms, the sparse foliage
is dark green.
Because blooms open at various times, most lilies live one to two weeks.
Flower colors include white, yellow, pink, red with orange; many have a deeper
color (freckles) on inner petals. |

Stocks have a 1 inch diameter single or double flower with a pleasing clove-like
scent.
This flowers romantic beauty brings texture to garden designs, its sweet, spicy
fragrance is an added attraction.
Colors range from white, cream, yellow, peach, lavender, pink, purple and burgundy.
As a cut flower, vase life is five to eight days.
Special care: Change the water frequently and be sure to remove any foliage below
