About Dallas TX
The city of Dallas was founded by John Neely Bryan in 1841 after first surveying the area in 1839.
Dallas County was established in 1846 and was named after George Mifflin Dallas, who was the eleventh United States Vice President at the time.
On July 16, 1872, the first passenger train, the Houston and Texas Central, steamed into Dallas.
With the arrival of the trains, the population soared, from 3,000 in early 1872 to more than 7,000 in September of the same year.
On November 22, 1963, near the spot where John Neely Bryan had first settled, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
Dallas has come a long way in the last 150 years.
From a town of two cabins to a city of more than a million people, Dallas's focus has always been growth and progress.
Alive with energy and rich in diversity, Dallas is a dynamic mix of imagination, talent and first-class attractions that makes it a world-class city.
Home to a vibrant economy, beautiful surroundings and a population full of optimism and spirit, it's no wonder that Dallas is a popular international destination.
Dallas is the top visitor destination in Texas.
Last year over 2 million people came to experience Dallas art, music, recreation, clubs, sport, and shopping.
With more restaurants per capita than even New York City, Dallas offers something for everyone.
Unique retail, outlet, and mall shopping, coupled with the Galleria and the worldwide, downtown headquarters for Neiman Marcus put shopping in Dallas on a whole other level.

Alstroemeria
Common names: alstroemeria, Peruvian lily, Inca lily.
Alstroemeria, commonly called Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants, mainly from cool, mountainous regions in the Andes.
Main stems of these cut flowers are 2 to 3 feet long branching into four to six short pedicels; each holding two to four flower buds.
Many hybrids plus about 190 cultivars have been developed, with different markings and colors, ranging from white, golden yellow, orange, to apricot, pink, red, purple or lavender.
The flower, which resembles a miniature lily, is very popular with florists for bouquets and flower arrangements in the commercial cut flower trade.
They have a vase life of up to two weeks.
Gladiolus
Common names: gladiolus, glad, gladioli.
Gladiolus , sometimes called sword lily, it is a genus of flowering plants, iris family (Iridaceae).
Gladioli have been extensively hybridized with a wide range of ornamental flower colours available from the many varieties.
Tall, tightly packed spikes of six to eight blossoms open in sequence from its stem base, so they make very good cut flowers.
2 to 8 inch-wide florets bloom in one direction with sword shaped foliage on long stems.
Gladiolus lend itself to almost any type of style from use of a full stem to provide height to a tall arrangement or individual florets for corsage or wedding flower work.
Gladiolus last seven to 10 days as a cut flower, and are available in a wide variety of colors including white, green, cream, yellow, buff, orange, salmon, pink, red, lavender, purple, blue plus terra cotta.
